Terms of Service

The straightforward rules for using MicRelay as a creator or guest.

Effective July 29, 2026
Privacy Policy Terms of Service support@micrelay.com

1. Agreement

These Terms of Service govern your use of MicRelay. By creating an account, purchasing a subscription, accepting an invitation, or submitting a recording, you agree to these terms and the Privacy Policy. If you use MicRelay for an organization, you confirm that you can bind that organization.

2. Who may use MicRelay

You must be legally able to enter this agreement. MicRelay is not intended for children under 13. If you invite a minor or another person who cannot consent for themselves, you are responsible for obtaining every permission required by law.

3. Accounts and private links

Creators are responsible for accurate account information and for keeping passwords, sessions, and private interview links secure. Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access. Guests generally do not need an account, but they must follow these terms when using an invitation link.

4. Subscriptions and payments

Paid plans renew at the billing interval shown at checkout until cancelled. Current prices, included recording time, and plan details appear on the Pricing page and at checkout. Taxes may apply. You may cancel future renewals through the available billing controls; cancellation does not ordinarily refund a period already purchased except where required by law or expressly stated at checkout.

5. Your content

You keep ownership of the recordings, text, images, and other content you submit. You give MicRelay a limited, non-exclusive licence to host, copy, transcode, edit, combine, transmit, and display that content only as needed to operate, secure, improve, and support the service or follow your instructions. This licence ends when the content is deleted from active systems, subject to reasonable backup, legal, and security retention.

You confirm that you have the rights and permissions needed to submit and use the content. Creators are responsible for telling guests how their recordings will be used and for obtaining recording, publicity, copyright, and privacy consents required in every relevant location.

6. Editing, Stitch, and automated output

MicRelay can trim, arrange, transcribe, crop, combine, and otherwise process recordings. Automated results can contain errors, miss unwanted material, or differ across devices and source files. Review every output before publishing it and keep your own copy of important originals. You remain responsible for the accuracy, legality, and suitability of anything you publish.

7. YouTube uploads

If you connect YouTube, you authorize MicRelay to upload only the video you select. MicRelay initially creates it as a private video. You control any later editing or publication in YouTube and remain responsible for the video and its metadata. Your use of the feature must comply with the YouTube Terms of Service, Google's policies, and YouTube's Community Guidelines. You can disconnect YouTube from Account settings or revoke access in your Google Account.

8. Acceptable use

Do not use MicRelay to break the law; infringe intellectual-property, privacy, publicity, or other rights; record someone without required consent; upload malware; send spam; deceive or harass people; distribute exploitative or abusive material; attempt unauthorized access; interfere with service operation; evade limits; scrape the service; or resell access without written permission. We may investigate and suspend activity that reasonably appears unsafe or unlawful.

9. Storage, exports, and availability

Current plans include 90 days of source-recording storage. Download files you need to keep. MicRelay may change storage practices prospectively and will try to give reasonable notice of material reductions. Processing, uploads, email, and third-party services can occasionally be delayed or unavailable. We work to operate MicRelay reliably but do not promise uninterrupted service or permanent storage.

10. MicRelay property

MicRelay owns the service, software, design, branding, and documentation, excluding your content. These terms give you a limited right to use the service; they do not transfer our intellectual property. Feedback may be used to improve MicRelay without an obligation to compensate you.

11. Third-party services

MicRelay relies on third-party services such as payment, email, media infrastructure, Google/YouTube, monitoring, and optional transcription providers. Their own terms may apply when you connect or use them. MicRelay is not responsible for a third party's independent services, policies, or availability.

12. Suspension and termination

You may stop using MicRelay at any time. We may suspend or end access when reasonably necessary to protect users or the service, address unlawful activity, enforce these terms, respond to legal requirements, or manage nonpayment. Where practical, we will provide notice and an opportunity to export available content.

13. Disclaimers and liability

To the extent permitted by law, MicRelay is provided "as is" and "as available" without implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. MicRelay is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, lost profits, lost data, or lost opportunities. Our total liability arising from the service will not exceed the amount you paid MicRelay during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. Nothing here limits rights or liability that cannot legally be limited.

14. General terms

These terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement about the service. If one provision is unenforceable, the rest remains effective. A delay in enforcing a term is not a waiver. You may not transfer this agreement without consent; MicRelay may transfer it as part of a reorganization or sale. These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia and the applicable federal laws of Canada, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.

15. Changes and contact

We may update these terms as MicRelay evolves. We will post the revised terms and update the effective date; material changes may also be communicated in the service or by email. Continued use after the new terms take effect means you accept them. Questions can be sent to support@micrelay.com.
