Privacy Policy

What MicRelay collects, why it is needed, and the choices you have.

Effective July 29, 2026
Privacy Policy Terms of Service support@micrelay.com

1. The short version

MicRelay helps people record, exchange, edit, and combine asynchronous interview and conversation videos. We use personal information to provide that service, operate accounts and payments, keep the service reliable, and communicate with you. We do not sell personal information or Google user data.

2. Information we collect

Account and billing information

When a creator opens an account, we may collect a name, email address, password hash, email-verification status, subscription status, and identifiers supplied by our payment processor. MicRelay does not store full payment-card numbers.

Recordings and project information

We process the audio, video, images, titles, prompts, responses, edits, transcripts, and other files that creators and guests submit. We also store project settings and technical details needed to upload, arrange, preview, download, and Stitch those files. A guest can record through a private link without creating a paid account.

Usage and device information

We may collect pages viewed, referral and campaign information, attributed clicks, session duration, browser and device details, approximate location derived from an IP address, a protected form of the IP address, and diagnostic logs. Advertising partners may set their own cookies or similar identifiers when their tags load.

Messages and applications

We keep information you send to support and information submitted through affiliate applications, including your name, email address, message, promotional plan, and optional link.

3. How we use information

We use information to operate and secure MicRelay; save and process recordings and edits; deliver private links, reminders, and service email; create downloads and Stitches; process subscriptions; provide support; understand product use and marketing performance; prevent abuse; and meet legal obligations. If you deliberately request transcription or related creator tools, the selected media or transcript may be sent to an AI service to produce that result.

4. Google and YouTube data

Connecting YouTube is optional. MicRelay requests only the youtube.upload permission. It lets MicRelay upload a video you specifically choose from your Timeline to the YouTube channel connected by you. Each upload is created as a private YouTube video so you can finish its title, description, audience settings, and publication choices in YouTube.

MicRelay receives and stores an encrypted Google authorization token, the connected channel identity returned during authorization, encrypted resumable-upload session details while an upload is active, and the resulting YouTube video ID and status. We use this data only to provide and maintain the upload feature. We do not use this permission to browse, download, analyze, sell, advertise against, modify, or delete the existing videos or activity on your YouTube channel.

Google authorization data is shared only with Google and YouTube as needed to complete actions you request, and with infrastructure providers acting for MicRelay where necessary to operate the service. MicRelay's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

You can disconnect YouTube in Account settings. MicRelay then revokes the authorization when possible and deletes the stored authorization token and active upload-session data. You can also revoke access from your Google Account permissions. Revoking access does not delete videos already uploaded to your YouTube account; those remain under your control in YouTube. You may also review Google's Privacy Policy and the YouTube Terms of Service.

5. When information is shared

We disclose information only as needed to operate MicRelay, follow your instructions, protect the service, or comply with law. Service providers may include infrastructure and database hosting, media storage and delivery, email delivery, payment processing, error monitoring, analytics and advertising measurement, Google/YouTube, and transcription or AI processing when you request those tools. These providers process information under their own terms and privacy obligations. We may also disclose information during a business transaction or when legally required.

A creator chooses who receives each private interview link and can access the responses submitted through it. Guests should assume their recordings will be available to the creator who invited them and may be edited, downloaded, published, or otherwise used by that creator.

6. Storage and deletion

Current MicRelay plans provide source-recording storage for 90 days. Creators should download files they want to keep. Project records, edited outputs, account records, billing records, security logs, and backups may be kept longer where reasonably needed to provide the service, maintain business and legal records, prevent fraud, resolve disputes, or recover systems. Backup copies may take additional time to expire.

You may request deletion of your account or personal information by emailing support@micrelay.com. We will verify the request and delete or de-identify information unless we need to retain it for legal, security, payment, or legitimate operational reasons. Google authorization data will be deleted within 30 days of a valid deletion request or loss of valid authorization, and normally immediately when YouTube is disconnected through MicRelay.

7. Cookies and measurement

MicRelay uses essential cookies for signed-in and private-link sessions. We also use first-party analytics and may use Google Ads, Meta, and OpenAI advertising measurement tags to understand visits, signups, and purchases. Browser controls can limit nonessential cookies, although blocking essential storage may prevent parts of the service from working.

8. Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, including encrypted network connections, hashed passwords, access controls, and encryption for stored Google authorization credentials. No online system can guarantee absolute security. Please use a strong, unique password and protect private interview links from unintended sharing.

9. Your choices and rights

You can update account details, export available account data, disconnect YouTube, cancel a subscription, and download available recordings from MicRelay. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing. Email support@micrelay.com to make a request.

10. Children and international use

MicRelay is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us. MicRelay and its providers may process information in Canada, the United States, and other countries where data-protection rules may differ from yours.

11. Changes and contact

We may update this policy as MicRelay changes. We will post the revised version here and change the effective date; material changes may also be communicated in the service or by email. Questions or privacy requests can be sent to support@micrelay.com.
